Helicopter Fly-In Instructions for RotorTech UK Announced

With 12 weeks to go until this summer’s RotorTech UK, event organizers have been working closely with Sywell Aerodrome to finalise the procedure by which rotary-wing visitors will be able to fly in and park up. As per the standard helicopter arrival and departure procedure, visiting rotary-wing traffic will make an initial call to Sywell Radio on 122.705 mHZ, stating Callsign, type, and joining intentions, routing inbound only via Heli North East and making sure not to overfly noise-sensitive areas. Helicopter circuit height is 800ft QFE.

Rotary-wing arrivals should report final to the aiming point ‘Heli Point Zulu’ at the Eastern corner of Sywell Aerodrome, where a dedicated marshalling team will park them up in a separate area at the East of the site, maintaining a minimum 50m separation from the fixed-wing parking space and the grass runway.

All pilots will receive a briefing pack closer to the event.
